Coming on the back of four victories in their last five matches, Mumbai Indians are currently at No. 3 in the points table. The winner of their match against Delhi Capitals at Delhi tonight will jump to No. 2 in the points table post registering a fifth IPL 2019 victory.
Out of the three away matches which Mumbai Indians have played till now, they have won two and lost the remaining one. MI would be looking to continue their away winning streak in the race to No. 2 in the points table.
MI Playing 11 today
Top-order
With captain Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock as their opening batsmen, MI are usually covered at the top of the order. However, you don’t associate Sharma with 193 runs at an average of 27.57 and a strike rate of 131.29.
The fact that he is yet to score a half-century in IPL 2019 speaks highly about the prospects of him doing the same soon. With Sharma due for a big innings, Delhi Capitals’ bowler would be careful tonight.
Indians will also have to take a decision on their No. 3 in Suryakumar Yadav. 183 runs in eight matches at an average of 22.87 and a strike rate of 135.55 don’t endorse well for him. With Siddesh Lad and Anmolpreet Singh waiting in the ranks, it wouldn’t be a surprise if MI play a new No. 3 at Feroz Shah Kotla.

Middle-order
Left-hand batsman Ishan Kishan has also not played a substantial innings as of now. However, him scoring 21 (9) with the help of three sixes in the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore pretty much changed the course of the game. Mumbai would be hoping for Kishan to play with more responsibility at No. 3.
Both Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard have been superlative for Mumbai in this season. The team would be unequivocally banking on their finishing skills against the likes of DC fast bowler Kagiso Rabada.
Bowlers
Having registered bowling figures of 4-0-31-4, veteran fast bowler Lasith Malinga was declared the Man of the Match against RCB. The 35-year old cricketer would be wanting to continue his form in the death over for MI.
Rahul Chahar continuing to bowl economical overs for Mumbai has been one of the biggest advantage for them. With Jason Behrendorff and (most importantly) Jasprit Bumrah in their squad, Mumbai have what it might take to stop someone of Rishabh Pant’s potential despite him scoring 78* (27) in the last match against MI.
