The Australian Quick missed the previous edition of IPL due to an injury and now he won’t feature in IPL 2017.This was confirmed on Twitter by the official IPL Id.
Apart from his decision to not play for RCB in the upcoming tournament, he will also not be taking part in auction that will take place at the Ritz-Carlton in Bengaluru. Find Out : IPL Twitter Id
RCB can very close to winning the 2016 edition of IPL. They have some brut power hitters which invoke fear in the minds of opposition bowlers, but an area which they need to improve is the pace department. The RCB think tank would have assumed that with mitchell Starc playing in the 2017 edition this area of concern would be addressed. However now just one day before the auction they are in a greater dilemma of forming a balanced team. A fully fit Starc would have brought much needed balance in the bowling front which is considerably inexperienced.
Just like the news of MS Dhoni’s decision to step down as captain of Rising Pune Supergiant’s earlier in theday, the news of mitchell starc terminating the contract took the twitterati by surprise. However as the news was broken by the official IPL twitter id it can be safely assumed that all parties involved new that such a move was coming.

What Next
As far as mitchell Starc is concerned, his immediate assignment is the upcoming four-match Test series against India which begins on 23rd at Pune. For RCB, it is the IPL Auction that takes place in Bengaluru.
The SportsRush’s Take
The reason for mitchell Starc not playing in the upcoming season of IPL is still not out in public domain, however it would not be far fetched to assume that he wants to preserve his body ahead of the champion’s trophy in June. Having suffered a lot of injuries in the recent past, he doesn’t want to over exert his body.
For RCB the repercussions of this decision are going to be immense. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s well laid-out plans ahead of the IPL Auction 2017 have been thrown out of the window and now even though they have extra cash, they will have to spend wisely if they are to claim their maiden IPL.
