England were chipping away without losing a wicket and the Indians bowlers were starting to feel restless. In fact, there was a period of play when it looked as if England would run away with the game.

It was a ripper from Shami which hit the bat of Jennings. However it was the pace of Shami which took the ball behind the popping crease. The ball spun and hit the stumps. The bails in turn were dislodged and India got a much required breakthrough.

Other Indian pacers failed to make an impact with Ishant Sharma struggling to get his line right. Umesh Yadav started off well but was too expensive and was finally taken off after three overs.
The pitch looks quite dry and India would have to make early inroads to stamp their authority over the match. Mohammed Shami is someone who can have a massive impact on the match if he hits his straps right away.
India must also credit a pigeon that was spotted on the ground just before the ball. It caused a short halt in play and may have distracted the English batsman.
