Mohammad Yousuf expects lightning to strike at the Bangladesh team as the only way for Pakistan to qualify for the semi-finals of CWC 2019

England’s 119-run victory over New Zealand in their last league match at the Chester-le-Street on Wednesday, meant that the Home side became the third team to secure their semi-final berth in the ongoing 2019 Cricket World Cup.

With three spots already sealed for the semi-finals it is almost certain, but official that New Zealand will go on to become the fourth team to qualify for the knock out stage, despite a loss against England.

Pakistan, on the other hand had their hands joined in constant prayers for a New Zealand victory, but the Kiwis never looked as if they were going for a victory, as all they needed was not to lose by a really huge margin.

With this, Pakistan really needs a lightning to strike on the Bangladeshi team, as Pakistan’s former Cricketer Mohammad Yousuf believes to be the only way that the ‘Men in Green’ could make it to the fourth position.

What did Mohammad Yousuf comment?

In an interaction with a news channel, Pakistan’s former batsman Mohammad Yousuf in a humorous manner came up with a hilarious, unrealistic solution via which Team Pakistan can make it through. Yousuf, admitted that Pakistan have been ruled out of the tournament, but only if lightning strikes and all the Bangladeshi players are reduced to ashes that his team might have an outside chance.

He further added that only if there is a situation wherein Pakistan are given a situation where they would need only say, ten runs in an over, that they hold a chance. Else, there is no second opinion that they would be boarding the flight to Pakistan.

“Can’t score 316 runs even before a fake team”- Yousuf

Yousuf further went on to say that no team win with a margin as high as 316 runs, even if they are playing against a fake team. “This scenario is very difficult. Even if you are playing in front of a fake team, chances of winning by 316 runs is an improbable task. Only if God comes up with a miracle, one can think of something”, exclaimed Yousuf.

Batting first, Pakistan need to score 308 runs and beat Bangladesh by the same amount of runs. If they score less than 308 runs or bat second, they would stand no chance at all of qualifying for the semi-finals.
