Former Indian Captain MS Dhoni and left-hander Suresh Raina have registered a great record in the first T20I against Ireland, which is quite unique in T20I cricket history.

When Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan started batting, there were several records that were on the line including the highest first-wicket partnership and the most overs that two batsmen have batted without a wicket falling.
Dhawan was initially more aggressive than Sharma and slammed his way to half century. Rohit Sharma followed suit. However Sharma lived a little dangerously after a couple of catches being dropped. On the contrary, the first chance that Dhawan gave, he was caught.

It was surprise when Suresh Raina came out to bat at one down instead of skipper Virat Kohli. All the same, he could not leave an impact as the southpaw was dismissed after hitting a couple of boundaries.
It was also a momentous occasion for Ireland cricket who were hosting one of the best cricket teams in the world. The two teams had last played a match in the 2009 T20 World Cup. Dhoni and Raina were the two players that were in the Indian team when India played its first T20I match against South Africa on December 1, 2006.
Now, 13 years later, the two are still members of the Indian T20I side in its 100th match. While Suresh Raina has been in and out of the team and still fighting for a spot in the playing XI, MS Dhoni has managed to cement his place in the team.
There was a lot of criticism following Dhoni’s shady run of form in T20Is. However, he is now back to his explosive best. As fans, all we can wish is that the two Chennai boys keep featuring for the Indian T20I side and keep scoring loads of runs.
