MS Dhoni argues with umpire

MS Dhoni argues with umpire: Chennai Super Kings captain was involved in an unconventional sight involving him against RR.

During the 25th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at Jaipur, Chennai Super Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets.

While a 152-run target seemed to be in Super Kings’ reach at the halfway mark, a shambolic start saw them being restricted to 24/4 in the powerplay. Not one but two wicket-maiden in the powerplay in a T20 match pushed the visitors on the back foot.

It was a 95-run partnership between Ambati Rayudu (57) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the fifth wicket which brought back CSK into the match. Despite the ever-increasing run rate, Super Kings hadn’t lost sight of the chase primarily because of Dhoni’s presence.

CSK received a blow in the form of Rayudu’s wicket in the 18th over. Having said that, needing 30 runs in two overs meant that a quintessential Dhoni-esque finish had it in it seal the chase for them.

After Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and chose to field, Royal ended up scoring 151/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Stokes, who came in to bat at No. 6 in the ninth over, top-scored for his team scoring 28 (26) with the help of one four. With bowling figures of 4-0-20-2, CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of their bowlers.

Despite Royals fast bowler Jofra Archer bowling an exceptional penultimate over, Dhoni somehow managed to score 12 runs off it.

With 18 runs remaining in the last over, CSK ended up chasing it but the highlight of the match was a rare scene of Dhoni walking back on the ground again after getting out. The veteran cricketer was seen arguing with the umpire in what came as the most shocking scenes involving someone of his persona.
