CSK captain ditches Spartan for new bat

CSK captain ditches Spartan for new bat: The legendary cricketer was pictured with a new bat ahead of CSK’s fourth match in IPL 2019.

With every passing game, Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is increasing the element of doubt in his fans with respect to his bat sponsor. It all started during the first ODI of Australia’s tour of India at Hyderabad last month when Dhoni surprisingly used an SS bat during the match.

Contracted with Australia-based bat sponsor company Spartan, it was astonishing to see someone of his brand value use a different bat.

It is worth mentioning that the news of Dhoni’s partnership with Spartan being at odds had circulated in September last year. Because of the company running in losses, the Indian cricketer was one among several cricketers who had become non-payment victims of Spartan Sports.

What has become a source of amazement for Dhoni’s bountiful fans is him playing musical chairs with bats of Spartan, SS and BAS (Beat All Sports) since then. While there is no confirmation on Dhoni’s current bat deal, it is assumed that the veteran cricketer has called time on Spartan.

Currently leading CSK in an attempt to defend their IPL title, Dhoni will be seen taking the field against Mumbai Indians tomorrow. The photos of both the teams practicing at the Wankhede Stadium have already gone viral across social media platforms.

Among the other photos uploaded on the official social media handles of Chennai Super Kings were Dhoni’s photos with his new bat, SS’ Sunridges line of bats.

Watch the photos below:

Under Dhoni, Chennai are currently the only team to remain unbeaten in IPL 2019. In three matches so far, Dhoni has scored 107 runs at a strike rate of 132.09 including an unbeaten half-century against Rajasthan Royals.
