MS Dhoni gives batting tips to Suresh Raina

MS Dhoni gives batting tips to Suresh Raina: Chennai Super Kings senior duo was seen putting the hard yards in the nets.

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was recently seen batting in the nets alongside vice-captain Suresh Raina. Dhoni was then seen giving batting tips to Raina. In a bid to achieve the same, Dhoni even used a left-hand batting stance for his deputy.

While Raina is the second-highest run-scorer in the Indian Premier League, he has not been at his best in IPL 2019. The southpaw has scored 306 runs in 13 matches at an average of 25.50 and a strike rate of 126.44 including a couple of half-centuries this season.

Him not dominating the bowlers as he used to in addition to mis-timing shots, Raina’s prowess in the tournament has deteriorated. However, the 32-year old cricketer top-scoring (59) for Super Kings last night has come as a positive sign for the franchise.

In what is the 10th season for Chennai Super Kings in the tournament, both Dhoni and Raina have played together for CSK since 2008. The pair has also been the focal point around which various players have come and gone over the years.

MS Dhoni gives batting tips to Suresh Raina:

“I think losing him [Dhoni] as a captain is not an issue, losing him as a batsman is always difficult for us. That’s what happened for us against [Sunrisers] Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians. When he comes to the crease a lot of pressure is created for other teams. When he is not in the team, we see the difference,” Raina had recently said about Dhoni in one of the interviews.
