The incomparable MS Dhoni has been playing cricket for more than 15 years. His unique batting technique caught everyone’s eye when he burst on to the scene as a power hitter. But now it seems as if MS Dhoni is looking to make changes in his batting technique.

People have always questioned Dhoni for his technique. His game is based on strong forearms and elastic wrists which give him the ability to hit power shots through the on side. This ‘rough’ approach to batting did not stop him from becoming one of the greatest ODI batsmen of all time.

Dhoni’s heroics with the bat have already given him a place in cricketing history, which is why this news of him trying to bring about a change is all the more surprising.
He began this change during the IPL season. Dhoni has now started recording all his batting sessions, and has analysed every shot that he plays. He then goes into the nets and tries to alter small things in his technique.
Why is he doing it? Dhoni had attained enormous success with his current style of play, which makes this new found attitude all the more surprising. The legendary skipper has always been a model professional, and his hunger to improve himself even at this stage of his career proves his dedication to the craft and will act as an inspiration to his younger team mates.

Dhoni has looked in good touch in the Champions Trophy so far. Now that India are in the semi finals, Kohli will look for his senior statesman to step up and perform for his country. It is what he has done for so many years anyway.
