MS Dhoni is the most sought-after player in the Indian Premier League. Ever since CSK was handed a two-year ban owing to spot-fixing allegations, Dhoni plied his wares for RPS. However, the return of CSK after the ban comes as a big boost for the supporters.

The Indian Premier League auction is hardly a few months away from the blistering pace. The conclave session between BCCI and the IPL franchise owners, officials went well today in an attempt to discuss the key propositions of the upcoming IPL tourney.

IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla said that player retention policy was one of the important points that were discussed in the IPL Governing Council meeting along with the concept of Right To Match cards policy. Complete details will be finalised in two weeks.

“The meeting went off well. The idea was to invite actual team owners and solicit their views now that 10 years have concluded. Lot of things like retention, salary cap, squad strength were discussed. Majority of the owners want player retention. I think we will be able to finalise the details in a fortnight,” Shukla told PTI.

The return of Chennai Super Kings and Royals is understood to replace Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant. It is learnt that Mumbai Indians wants to retain a count of five to six players. CSK, RCB, SRH wants to retain three or more players.

Delhi Daredevils wants to retain three players to their strength whereas Mumbai Indians and CSK want two and one Right To Match Cards Policy. Unfortunately, it is reported CSK were not allowed to retain their favourite players such as MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis and Dwayne Bravo in the list.
