The Bangladesh Cricket Team’s injury woes do not seem to end at all, as their experienced wicket-keeper batsman, Mushfiqur Rahim faces a massive injury blow ahead of the West Indies vs Bangladesh match to be played at Taunton on Monday, June 17.

The injury occurred during the training session of the Bangladesh Cricket Team at the Cooper Associates Stadium at Taunton on Saturday. As per the reports, Rahim received a blow from the Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman while he was batting at the nets.
It had been just 20 minutes since the commencement of the practice session, as the team was robbed of any sort of practice for the past two days due to incessant rains.
Ball hit his right hand
A rising ball from Mustafizur hit quite hard on Rahim’s right hand, and the 32-year-old was forced to remove his glove impromptu. He then strolled off the park after having a close look at his right forearm. He then immediately left the field after consulting with the team physio Thihan Chandramohan.
Although the seriousness of his injury isn’t confirmed yet, Bangladesh media manager Rabeed Imam assured that there is apparently nothing to worry about.

With this, Rahim adds on to the list of injured players in the Bangladesh camp. Their skipper Mashrafe Mortaza has already been playing so far despite being unfit. Also all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan suffered a left thigh strain while batting during the ICC Cricket World Cup match against England in Cardiff.
All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin too, is suffering from a back issue for quite some time.
Bangladesh to face the Windies next
The Bangladesh team would be optimistic that Rahim’s injury gets healed before their match against the Windies on Monday, just a day after the India vs Pakistan clash. They will lock horns at the Cooper Associates County Ground at Taunton.
They have won just a single match so far in the marquee tournament against South Africa. They lost their next two matches against New Zealand and hosts England, and the recent one against Sri Lanka got washed off due to rain at Bristol.
They are currently placed at the 7th position in the points table.
