NASCAR History: How Jeff Gordon Ended Up With the Number 24 at Hendrick Motorsports

During his career in the NASCAR Cup Series, Jeff Gordon has enjoyed a lot of success, through which came a lot of money which made him one of the highest-paid drivers of all time in the sport’s history. But despite him having retired close to a decade ago now, Gordon is still growing his extensive financial portfolio.

The $200 million worth four-time Cup Series champion, recently set foot to add a little more to his already massive net worth. As of recent news, Gordon is in contract to sell his $12.9 Million dollar property in New York City. If the sale goes well, he will have netted a few extra million dollars to further strengthen his finances.

Jeff Gordon is ready to sell a $12.9 Million property in NYC

Gordon had acquired the property back in 2013 for a total of $10 million. Just 10 years later, the sale of the property is scheduled to net him a good $2.1 Million. Seems like a good investment doesn’t it?

Although, it would have been a cherry on the cake had it gone for a couple more million.

Situated at 21 East 26th Street, New York, the Whitman unveils a grand floor plan of 4,967 square feet, according to the details provided on StreetEasy. This sizable dwelling encompasses a total of 13 rooms, which include four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. Interestingly, the house also overlooks the famed Madison Square Gardens.

The renowned interior design firm, Pembrooke & Ives has left its signature touch on the pristine interiors. Unique elements of the children’s rooms include graffiti artwork inspired by “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter.” Furthermore, the building, dating back to 1924, showcases Georgian-style architecture. In addition to the residential luxuries, the property also features a fully-equipped gym, a refrigerated package room, and ample basement storage.

Gordon also owned a property that had an auto museum within it

While the NYC condo selling for $12.9 Million might seem like a massive sum, wait to you see what he sold off last year. A house originally belonging to Gordon sold for a total of $36 million. The property was a 16,000-square-foot megamansion with 120 feet of water frontage. It even had its very own automotive museum nestled within its walls.

Gordon had initially sold the property in 2013 for an estimated $13.3 million. Nearly a decade later, the same property was back on the market once again in 2022. However, interestingly the car museum was not something that the former Hendrick Motorsports legend had left behind. Instead, it was the owner that came after it, that had a penchant for collecting cars.

The array of grand and luxurious properties owned by both current and former NASCAR drivers is indeed fascinating. While most of us may not get the chance to dwell within the same walls that once housed the NASCAR greats, we can still marvel at the opulence of these estates from afar. Hopefully, the fortunate buyer will relish the experience of living amidst such illustrious history.
