It is no surprise that like Kevin Harvick, who is one of the most decorated drivers in the modern era of NASCAR, his son Keelan too wants to follow in his footsteps. In his case, it is just not in NASCAR though. The 11-year-old son of the Stewart-Haas Racing driver has long declared his interest to aim for Formula 1 over stock car racing.

But starting out in open wheelers requires some time in the karting scene, which is exactly why Keelan got himself into a new class of kart racing. Recently, the senior Harvick shared a post on social media where he shared Keelan raking up a good finish while debuting in the X30 class Karts.
Kevin Harvick shares a proud moment involving his son
Harvick reshared a tweet from his son which originally read, “I made my X30 Junior debut @trackhousemotor and earned a fourth-place finish along with the MPI_INNOVATIONS hard-charger award! I started ninth out of 20 karts and worked my way to the lead after a few laps, but eventually fell back to p4. The X30 karts are bigger, heavier, and way faster than a mini, but I’m enjoying the new challenge! Thanks to rolison_pg for helping me get up to speed with a fast kart! #62 #alwayslearning #keeppushing“
Really proud of @KeelanHarvick ! We keep pushing him out side of his comfort zone with great people around him! Appreciate all the help from @RolisonPG to get everything rolling! https://t.co/VHEfGq5zHG

After sharing Keelan’s incredible 4th place finish tweet, he stated, “Really proud of Keelan Harvick! We keep pushing him outside of his comfort zone with great people around him! Appreciate all the help from RolisonPG to get everything rolling!“
It is certainly incredible to see Harvick’s son showcase his talent while out on the race track. However, the road from here is only going to get steeper for him. So the more experience behind the wheel, the better it gets when he races against some of the best in Europe.
Harvick’s son wants to follow in his father’s footsteps but in a different form of racing
There have been conversations that Keelan Harvick does not want to pursue a career in NASCAR. Instead, the 11-year-old has already set his sights on getting into Formula 1 someday in the future. As an American driver, getting into F1 can be extremely hard. Currently, there is only one American driver who races in the 2023 grid, that being Florida native, Logan Sargent, racing for the Williams Racing team.
Racing go-karts in Europe is the only logical step for anyone looking to step into Formula 1 someday. Harvick recognizes that the racing scene in Europe is highly competitive and different from the ones in the United States. So for Keelan, who has his father’s complete support, the climb up the ladder will definitely be a difficult one.
