Denny Hamlin Jumps to Tyler Reddick's Defense As Playoff Disaster Looms

Joining the 23XI Racing team a year ahead of schedule, Tyler Reddick has consistently delivered strong performances, proving his potential as a long-term asset. Team co-owner Denny Hamlin has even publicly applauded Reddick’s prowess, stating that the young driver had set the bar for his peers. This high praise, coupled with Reddick’s consistent success, forecasts a promising trajectory for the 23XI Racing team. Tyler Reddick recently revealed if he perceives Denny Hamlin to be his boss.

Recently, Reddick positively evaluated the team culture. Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing with basketball icon Michael Jordan, epitomizes the boss role perfectly even as he competes against his own team, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Cup Series.

Tyler Reddick asked if he considered Denny Hamlin to be his boss

In an interview with Fox Sports, Reddick made several revelations on where he stands as a NASCAR driver and how he thinks Denny Hamlin is, as a leader.

He said, “He is a boss for sure. It’s great to have someone like that in that role that owns the team, someone you raced against that me and Bubba [Wallace] can also lean on, having not just him but having a driver like Kurt Busch be involved in helping us along the way, too. We’ve got a lot of really great people in great positions.”

Reddick’s acknowledgment of Kurt Busch’s continued involvement with the team, even after his retirement from full-time racing, is a testament to the supportive ethos within the team. It’s heartening to observe Hamlin’s deep engagement with the team, maintaining his active role despite juggling his primary commitments at JGR. This certainly speaks volumes about the healthy, collaborative environment fostered at 23XI Racing.

How has Tyler Reddick’s first year been at 23XI Racing so far?

Tyler Reddick has had a decent outing in his first season with 23XI Racing. Since his departure from RCR, he has clinched a win this season, setting a high standard within the team and consistently delivering strong performances. By comparison, his teammate, Bubba Wallace, is yet to celebrate a win this season.

Reddick’s swift adjustment to his new team and his ability to perform at the highest level are commendable. His potential playoff berth would be a significant boost for the team. While Reddick solidifies his position, all eyes are on his teammate Wallace to claim his first victory and establish his own playoff prospects.
