One of the game’s most dominant personalities ever, Shaquille O’Neal is often considered to be overweight. Having entered the league as a rookie weighing just north of the 300-pound mark, and weighing as much as 400 pounds during the Lakers’ three-peat era, Shaq was able to maneuver without any problems at the time. While his weight never affected his game, he did look out of shape for the majority of his career. Now, with him revealing his goal of reaching the 350-pound mark, a recent video posted by the Big Aristotle depicts that he might be very close to his goal already.

Despite having been one of the heaviest players, O’Neal has achieved it all. In 19 seasons, the 7-foot-1 big man won 4 championships, 3 Finals MVPs, 1 MVP, and was even selected to numerous All-Star and All-NBA teams.
However, it seems as if O’Neal has been much more cautious of his weight following his retirement. During his playing days, the 2-time scoring champ would have no intentions of losing body fat. But now, the Hall-Of-Famer is actively working towards his goal of bringing his body weight down to 350 pounds.
Shaquille O’Neal looks to be in good shape at 51 years of age
O’Neal is pretty active on social media and often posts videos and photos of his workouts.
Recently, the TNT analyst posted a shirtless reel on his Instagram, showing off his physique. And clearly, it seems as if he’s in quite good shape. However, it’s also incredibly hilarious how at age 51 O’Neal is posting thirst traps on his social media. And he’s clearly feeling himself too, as the iconic Doja Cat audio is playing over this video of his.

As he does pretty often, it seems as if Charles Barkley cannot be trolling the LAL legend for being overweight anymore.
However, this isn’t the first time O’Neal has posted a shirtless video of him during his gym session. Back in September 2022, the former LSU Tiger had millions gushing over him with his 6-pack abs. Take a look at Shaq’s Instagram post right here.

While many around the world were criticizing O’Neal for photoshopping, he put an end to all accusations during his appearance on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast. He even went on to show a few more photos of his abs to co-host George Janko before revealing the reason behind slimming down.
Shaq wants to be a s*x symbol
On the same podcast episode, the 15-time All-Star revealed his aspirations of becoming a “s*x symbol”.
“I wanna become a s*x symbol,” O’Neal said.
Eventually, the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team member also disclosed that he slimmed down in order to get rid of the “Charles Barkley retirement body”.
“I like to create crazy motivation,” O’Neal said. “Cause I was looking at myself, and I had that Charles Barkley retirement body. I didn’t want my stomach to be over the belt anymore. So I was like, let me go ahead and get slim.”
One can only imagine how many more accolades Shaq would have on his resume if he had this type of physique during the prime of his career.
