Having overcome their first-round match-ups against all odds, the series between the Lakers and the Warriors has been hyped up significantly. After all, The King and The Chef are going head-to-head for the first time since 2018, when they met in the NBA Finals.
Fans around the world are watching keenly. As such, the NBA has decided to capitalize on this situation. How? By putting an exorbitant price on the tickets. In fact, tickets for Los Angeles versus Golden State are almost $526 more than the average price of a second-round Playoff ticket. But, are they the most expensive tickets in history?

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors are two of the biggest teams in NBA history. The two franchises have die-hard fan bases that sell out their respective arenas every time they have a game on. As a result, getting a ticket to one of their games costs a pretty penny.
Over the years, each team has had some incredible match-ups. Back in the day, the average price of a second-round Playoff matchup was about $200. A fair price to watch some of the legends like Kobe Bryant go at it.
But, nowadays, with the rising popularity of the sport, prices have surged. And, given the heated rivalry between LeBron James and Stephen Curry, the cost of a ticket for any of the Warriors and Lakers second-round matches is around $726 on average. This makes it one of the most expensive post-season tickets out there.
But, contrary to reports, it is not the most expensive of all time. That honor, as of 2021, goes to the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals series between the Bucks and the Raptors, with an average ticket price of $1040.

Nevertheless, it certainly is a must-see. But, is it worth those prices? Well, based on what happened in Game 1, both Lakers fans and Dubs fans are in for a cracking series.
Lakers vs. Warriors is undoubtedly the most exciting second-round match in the 2023 Playoffs
The narrative of Stephen Curry versus LeBron James is what drove the Warriors vs. Lakers matchup to become so highly anticipated. But, after Game 1, it’s safe to say it is much much more than that. The game ended 112-117 in LA’s favor, essentially giving them the advantage. A resilient performance from Anthony Davis and a questionable shot from Jordan Poole made sure of that.
Now, the Dubs head into Game 2 knowing that their homecourt advantage is gone and that they will have to do all they can to at least go to LA with one game to their name.

Safe to say, the upcoming matches between these two will be as feisty as ever. It will be exciting to see just who will prevail. King James’ Lakers or Chef Curry’s Warriors.
