Paul George is one of the top players in the NBA. The LA Clippers star has been on fine form and has been one of the best in the league for a few years now. But, not so long ago, PG13 was just an up-and-coming superstar.

George was electric ever since he entered the league in 2010. Drafted by the Indiana Pacers, he made the All-Rookie Second Team and has won a slew of awards since then. Now, he stands on the end of the spectrum as a 13-year veteran.
With all that experience in hand, PG should be able to spot the stars who much like him, have great potential. So, which youngster has impressed the eight-time All-Star this season? Well, according to his analysis, Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun is the next Magic Johnson.
Clippers star Paul George likens Alperen Sengun’s style of play to Magic Johnson
Magic Johnson is one of the greatest players of all time. A Hall of Famer, he was known for his elite passing skills despite his size. An anomaly amongst NBA superstars at the time.
However, since then, there have been very few to emerge from the same cloth. A big man who can pass the ball as well as a 6’9″ Johnson are a rare breed. Over the years, perhaps the only player to reach a similar playing field is Nikola Jokic.
That being said, LA Clippers star, Paul George believes otherwise. In his podcast, Podcast P with Paul George, PG13 lavished praise on Houston Rockets youngster Alperen Sengun. A player he claims is “on some Magic Johnson s**t”.
“Imma go with Alperen Sengun. Beast! Beast! He’s the Houston Rockets’ big man and, he’s got shades of Marc Gasol. He’s got shades of Pau Gasol. Shades of Jokic. Shades of like the great bigs that can pass. that can shoot, that can playmake. He’s a super…super high IQ player. Like I love his game, he can do it all. I’d say the greatest part of his game is his playmaking. At that size and that position, his playmaking…really good! really good! I mean I’ve seen some flashiness…on some Magic-type shit!”
A great shout-out from PG. Sengun is a bright young talent who is destined to become a superstar. Hopefully, George will get to watch his game up close and personal someday in the playoffs.
PG13 may have to face a player similar to Sengun in Nikola Jokic very soon
As of today, the Clippers have booked their spot in the NBA Playoffs. They are currently scheduled to face the Phoenix Suns in their first-round match-up. If all goes well, it is very likely that Paul George will get to face a player quite like Alperen Sengun in a potential second-round match against the Denver Nuggets. This player is Nikola Jokic.

It certainly would be one heck of a match-up. A throwback to their meeting in the 2020 NBA Playoffs. And, if it does come to pass, hopefully, George’s Clippers prove victorious this time around.
