Anthony Davis has been in an elite form off late. Although it might not be turning out all too well for the Lakers, his brilliance has brought them to a place from where they can think of being a playoffs team at least.

His dominance in the last 15 games or so has been enough for former NBA champ with the Boston Celtics, Paul Pierce, to declare him the only one who could neutralize the Greek Freak.
Anthony Davis could match up with Giannis Antetokounmpo according to Paul Pierce
There is no doubt that prime Anthony Davis could be the best player in the NBA and no big man, even no two duos of bigs in any current NBA team would be enough to stop him if he becomes a vintage AD.
Neither Robert Williams (plus Al Horford and Grant Williams, in the 2022 playoffs) nor Deandre Ayton (in the 2021 Finals) was able to put stop to Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks weren’t effective last postseason just because of the absence of Khris Middleton. Otherwise, they could have been the team coming out of the East, again.
However, if they do it this year, and by some miracle, the Lakers come out of the West, do you think AD and Lakers would be able to match up Giannis and Co? The Truth thinks so!
“He (AD) is the only one who could match up with Giannis,” Pierce said, talking to Kevin Garnett about the 8x All-Star’s 44p-10r-4a-3b night against the Giannis’ Bucks which ended up as a 133-129 win for the Lakers.
He came up with a 55-17-1-3 in the very next game against the Wizards, further strengthening the point made by the Celtics legends. But since then, the Lakers have lost 4 out of 5 games.
LeBron James and Co have to capitalize on what AD is bringing
It’s time for James to take a back seat and let AD be the anchor of the offense even Russell Westbrook on good days lately, has been better than him.
So, in order to win games for the Lakers, the 4x NBA champ needs to stop making bad decisions like shooting a fade-away three with 20 seconds remaining in a tied game.
That is not going to win him another championship, he has got to pass the rock to AD or Brodie or an open man when it’s game time. Mostly, just to Davis, so that he does not have to go to the free-throw line in the last possession.
