Michael Jordan has been involved in quite a few rumors regarding his involvement with ‘producing’ NBA talent. Given that neither of his sons, Marcus or Jeffrey, made it past the collegiate level of hoops, it’s understandable as to why MJ constantly has basketball fans hypothesizing over which currently players in the league are perhaps his very own. Seems as though Anthony Edwards is one name that has become quite popular in this discussion.

Prior to Ant, Jimmy Butler was the number one name that people tried to relate to Michael. Given just how incredible of a player he is, especially during these 2023 Playoffs, buzz around who his real father is took off. Them having similar facial similarities does add fuel to the fire here.
One of the biggest things going for the Jordan-Butler theory is that no one knows for sure who the latter’s real father is. So, placing the 6x NBA champion in that position is easy. It isn’t as easy for Anthony Edwards unfortunately.
Is Michael Jordan Anthony Edwards’ father?
No, Anthony Edwards is not Michael Jordan’s son. Ant was born to Yvette Edwards and Roger Caruth on August 5th, 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia. Sadly, both Edwards’ mother and his grandmother, Shirley, would pass away in 2015 due to late stage cancer in an 8-month span within each other.
His father, Roger, is reportedly not involved in his children’s lives any longer and lives separate from them. He did however bestow the ‘Ant’ nickname upon the future Minnesota Timberwolves star during his youth.
The reason for why people believe Anthony Edwards is Michael’s son is obvious. They share similar characteristics when it comes to their facial structure and they’re both incredible at the game of basketball. Both of these reasons are the same for why Jimmy Butler was also cast as Jordan’s son by fans online.

Edwards and Jordan have met in person before with the latter even instilling a great deal of confidence within him. He told him that at age 19, he’s more stronger and more athletic than he was when he was 19 years old. That, at least in the eyes of the public, is where their relationship ends.
The Jimmy Butler-Michael Jordan theory
Like Anthony Edwards, Jimmy Butler was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born September 14th, 1989 and the theory regarding Michael Jordan being his father revolves around the fact that the Chicago Bulls were in Atlanta exactly 9 months prior to his birth.
Jordan’s extramarital ways have been heavily publicized over the years so many believe it’s entirely possible that he could’ve conceived the Miami Heat legend during a road game in the A. of course, this has never been proven to be true in the slightest.
