Sports are a big part of everyday life, and sometimes people can get too swayed by them. Sometimes even swayed enough that they forget the players are people outside of the sport and have a life and family of their own as well.
While trolls online mocking the players and having ‘opinions’ on everything they do has become common, a player getting death threats is a pretty serious matter.
A few days ago, we read about a deranged Kevin Durant fan threatening to shoot LeBron James in the Staples Center when the Nets match up against the Lakers. Before that, we heard the news of Danny Green and his wife getting death threats after Danny Green missed a season clincher and forced the NBA Finals to Game 6 against the Heat.
“I gotta up my security”: Jae Crowder reacts to death threats on Instagram story
Jae Crowder is a pretty well-liked player in the league. He was acquired by the Heat from the Grizzlies, and then was part of the Heat team that made the NBA Finals. He then signed a 3-year deal with the Suns in free agency this offseason.
Crowder took it to his Instagram stories to share that he has been receiving death threats. He says he would increase the security around him. He also mentioned that he does not want to be separated from his daughter and hence takes this very seriously.

Jae Crowder did not mention the reason why he might be getting such threats. He has been doing pretty well with the Suns. Just recently, he sent the game against Denver to Double OT, which the Nuggets eventually won 120-112. Jae has been averaging 10.3 points and 4.6 rebounds this season.
