Charged With Assault, Anthony Edwards Shows Displeasure Towards Timberwolves for Rudy Gobert Trade

The Minnesota Timberwolves finished their season last night as the Denver Nuggets finished their gentlemen’s sweep. Anthony Edwards had an incredible series, becoming the 2nd highest record holder for 30+ point playoff games under the age of 21. He averaged 31.6 points, 5.2 assists, and 5.0 rebounds in the five-game series.

However, his efforts were in vain, as he did not get the support from his teammates that he needed. His two co-stars, Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert, both were outplayed by Nikola Jokic and outrebounded by the Nuggets.

After getting eliminated last night, ANT took the blame for the loss. That shows the leadership the 21-year-old has and how he has a bright future ahead. Turns out ANT might want a say in his future as well, especially with the Timberwolves. At least his actions on Instagram indicate the same.

Anthony Edwards likes comment dissing Timberwolves for Rudy Gobert trade

Last summer, the Minnesota Timberwolves thought they had done a big thing, getting Rudy Gobert from Utah Jazz. They thought they were making Twin Towers in Minnesota and ended up giving Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Leandro Bolmaro, Walker Kessler (No. 22 pick in 2022 Draft), Jarred Vanderbilt, and four first-round picks.

It was a trade that hasn’t turned out well for the Wolves, as the duo played 21 games together, holding a record of 11-10. Both of these players are on $200 Million+ deals. However, they can’t seem to figure out how to play together.

After the Wolves were knocked out, an Anthony Edwards fan page on Instagram(@edwardswave) shared a post complimenting ANT’s 3rd year in the NBA.

Under that post, a user(@jeriquewalker15) commented: “I will never forgive Minnesota for that dumbass trade !”

This comment has 84 likes in 12 hours, including one from 2023 All-Star Anthony Edwards.

This clearly refers to the “blockbuster” Rudy Gobert trade that the Timberwolves made, weakening/depleting their future draft options. I guess ANT isn’t too happy with the situation, and maybe he’d let the front office know about it soon enough.

Trading Rudy Gobert isn’t going to be easy. He has three years left on his 5-year, $205 Million deal. At the same time, the Wolves do not have draft considerations to send along with Gobert. Does that mean a trade for KAT? That seems highly unlikely.

ANT was charged with assault in Denver

After the game last night, ANT was clearly upset. He missed a good chance to tie the game with a deep triple, but he bricked the shot. In frustration, he tossed a foldable chair.

The chair ended up hitting two guards, who are filing charges against the young All-Star.
