Draymond Green stomping on Domantas Sabonis’s mid-section during Game 2 between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings has made headlines. Him doing so led to him being assessed a Flagrant 2 and being ejected from the game while Sabonis was given a technical foul for grabbing his leg.

In the midst of the Suns-Clippers Game 2, NBA Communications revealed that Draymond had been suspended without pay for Game 3 of the first round series. With the Warriors down 0-2, regardless of their 33-8 home record, they might be at risk of going down 0-3.
Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal took to ‘Inside the NBA’ yesterday to express differing opinions on the situations. According to Shaq, Draymond was given no place to land by Sabonis while Chuck believes Green clearly had an intent with his stomp and deserved to be ejected.
Charles Barkley gets called out for being hypocritical
Charles Barkley vehemently disagreed with Shaq, who defended Draymond Green for stomping on Domantas Sabonis’s chest. However, in tonight’s TNT breakdown of Game 2 between the Suns and the Clippers, Ernie and the guys would hilariously showcase just how hypocritical Chuck was being.
The video would show Barkley, during Game 2 of a first round series between the Suns and Lakers in 1993, kicking Vlade Divac in the chest while he was on the ground. Barkley, given that this was the 90s, was assessed a mere Flagrant 1 and was allowed to stay in the game.
The Suns ended up losing that game but winning that series. The TNT crew, Shaquille O’Neal included, roasted Barkley for his hypocrisy. 1993 MVP would then defend himself by stating he merely stepped on his chest, in comparison to Draymond’s ‘stomp’.
Charles Barkley was not given any further punishment
Despite a 21 rebound night from Charles, the Suns lost that Game 2 before they would go on a 3-game win streak and advance to the second round of the Playoff. For kicking Vlade Divac, Chuck was not ejected from the game nor was he suspended for Game 3 of that series.
Draymond Green on the other hand, is no stranger to being suspended for Playoff games. He was famously suspended for Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals for his scuffle with LeBron James as he’d crossed the limit of Flagrant fouls allowed, resulting in an automatic suspension.
