Ever since he was a kid, Shaq had leaned toward music, and wanted to rap and become a DJ. He’s a platinum-selling rapper. At the same time, he’s acted in a lot of movies, such as Kazaam, Steel, and more.
As of late, he’s been doing his bit as DJ Diesel. DJ Diesel is a popular public figure and has shows all around. At the same time, he’s also an on-air analyst for TNT. He also has his own podcast with TNT where he discusses basketball, and everything else happening in the world. Recently Shaq was nominated for four Emmys. Even though Big Diesel is a very optimistic person, but this time around, he’s sure he’s not winning. Here’s why:
Shaquille O’Neal blames Charles Barkley for not winning any Emmy
Shaquille O’Neal has won a lot of awards in his many years. From winning in the NBA, to winning on-screen, Big Diesel is a winner, period. However, the one award he’s never gotten close to winning is the Emmy. This year, the big man has a chance to change that.
According to Nischelle Turner, Shaq’s been nominated for four Emmys.

However, Big Shaq doesn’t believe he will win an Emmy. He blames Charles Barkley for the same. He said,
“I’ll never get that award. Chuck don’t let me talk. He keeps doubling/tripling. You remember when I got mad, ‘1, 2, 3, 4, not 1, 2, 3, back to 1.’ Nah I’m not getting that Emmy. You know why? I could be doing a lot more, but Chuck keeps taking up the whole **** time! Repeating himself!”
It was then that Nischelle told Shaq that Chuck and Kenny Smith had also been nominated for the same honors. Shaq didn’t react much to the same, but said, “I’mma lose.”
Shaq once lied about winning Emmys
So far, Shaq has won several Emmy awards, but none of them are individual accolades. Inside the NBA has won 17 Emmy awards, and Shaq had been there for 12 of them. However, during a game of ‘Google Me’ on the Big Podcast, Shaq said that he had directed an episode of Mo’ Better Skeeter.
Not only that, he claimed that the episode he directed won an Emmy for the same! While he wasn’t called out for the same, when viewers actually searched, there was nothing as such mentioned anywhere, meaning the Big Diesel was caught lying.
However, this year is the best chance for the Big Diesel to change narratives and win his first solo Emmy honors.
