Damian Lillard, for the first time since getting drafted as the #6 pick in 2012 by the Portland Trail Blazers, has said something alarming about his future with the franchise.

The club never went to lengths to get the all-time great guard the help he needs to win a championship. He waited 11 years for them to do so, before finally saying his piece that might get him some real help and not some young draft picks, which they will have a lot in the upcoming years.
“I don’t have much of an appetite for building with guys 2 and 3 years away and not really go after it.”

A final call for help by Damian Lillard
As soon as the Blazers lost their Final game of the season against the Warriors by 56 points, in quite a way that summarized their season in one game, Dame Dolla had his say on his expectations from the team he has given all his career to.
However, fans were not too happy about what he said. “This guy [Damian Lillard] speaks out of both sides of his mouth lol,” said one user.

Lillard has always been critical of the players who chase rings rather than sticking to the franchise that invested in them at the start of their careers.
Why the fans are criticizing Lillard?
His statement might have sounded like Lillard is just telling his team to trade for good players with the picks they have rather than getting some young draftees because he has had enough of playing for just a place in the Playoffs.
But it could also be a message that they should trade him if they intend to rebuild. That’s the reason why fans are not happy about this. However, how the Blazers’ management operates it is hard to attract a big-name player.
If that wasn’t an issue, Portland anyway has never been a big market team. Even that reason is enough for them to not get a superstar who could lead them to a championship along with Lillard.
