Days After Falling to Canada, Luka Doncic Surpasses Shaquille O'Neal and Kevin Durant with Incredible FIBA World Cup Stat

Luka Doncic has emerged as the undeniable star of the FIBA World Cup 2023. As always, Luka has not only been dominant on the court but also on the stat sheets. His numbers surpassed many, including Kevin Durant and the dominant Shaquille O’Neal. This remarkable revelation comes from a recent post on Reddit.

This achievement, however, comes just days after Slovenia’s recent exit from the tournament at the hands of Canada. Unfortunately for Luka, the game did not go as planned. After a close first half, Doncic and Slovenia unraveled after Luka’s ejection.

Luka Doncic has dominated at the 2023 FIBA World Cup

According to a Reddit post that analyzed the numbers, Luka Doncic’s performance in the FIBA World Cup 2023 is nothing short of extraordinary.

The statistics paint a picture of a player in a league of his own.

Luka Doncic has made a staggering 90 free throw attempts, a feat unrivaled in the past three decades of FIBA World Cup history. Additionally, he stands alone as the first player to achieve the remarkable trifecta of 200+ points, 50+ rebounds, and 40+ assists in a single FIBA World Cup tournament over the last 30 years. Perhaps most astonishingly, Doncic has amassed an astounding 200 points in just eight games, a feat matched by only three other players in the history of the tournament.

The post read:

  • Luka Doncic 🇸🇮 has attempted 90 free throws in the FIBA World Cup 2023, the most for a player in a single tournament over the last 30 years.

  • Luka Doncic 🇸🇮 is the 1st player with 200+ points, 50+ rebounds, and 40+ assists in a single FIBA World Cup tournament over the last 30 years.

  • Luka Doncic 🇸🇮 has scored 200 points in the FIBA World Cup in only 8 games.

Comparatively, Kevin Durant and Shaquille O’Neal, who both won FIBA MVPs, pale in comparison in these categories.

USA and Slovenia crash out

The FIBA World Cup 2023 has been rife with surprises, none more shocking than the exits of both Slovenia and the favored Team USA. Slovenia’s effort fell short against a determined Canadian team. On the other hand, the United States faced a stunning defeat at the hands of a resilient German squad.

Looking ahead, the finals promise a showdown of epic proportions between the victors, with Germany emerging as the frontrunner, having proven their mettle by besting the formidable Team USA.
