The Dallas Mavericks were sent home without even a chance at the play-in tournament. Earlier, especially after the trade deadline and Luka Doncic’s blowup, Mavericks were considered one of the strongest contenders. However, Kyrie Irving was unable to bring too much change to a roster that has been criticized the whole season.

But their failure at what should have been a certain entry to at least the play-in contest has left fans and the NBA community in dismay. How many times do you see two of the top guards play together and not even make it to the playoffs.
In light of this failure, rumors have emerged claiming Kyrie Irving has been traded. Some rumors also suggested Irving, who has been known to beef with his previous teams Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, has removed ‘Dallas Mavericks guard’ from his bio.
Rumors allege Kyrie Irving is going to leave Dallas Mavericks
The parody account on Twitter known as B*ttcrack Sports shared a screenshot of Kyrie’s IG account and alleged he had removed ‘Dallas Mavericks guard’ from it. A lot of fans fell for the fake news. The ‘prank’ also led to fans believing this was a clear indicator of an upcoming trade.

However, the truth is, Irving did not have ‘Dallas Mavericks guard’ in his bio ever. The 6ft 2″ star had not added any team name to his Instagram bio. But with the parody account’s fake reporting, fans have easily believed it.
Kyrie’s past with the Celtics and Nets is to blame for the readiness with which fans have believed these fake reports. Irving did not enjoy a healthy tenure with the two teams. In fact, his final few weeks with the Nets were extremely controversial. Irving’s anti-semitic post led to his suspension. Irving eventually apologized for it but it was clear things had been ruined beyond repair between the 8-time All-Star and Brooklyn Nets.
In contrast, Irving has enjoyed a much better time with Dallas Mavericks. He was positive about his tenure with the team in the press and showed great bonding with his new teammates. But the lack of a winning record has again led fans to believe something is wrong between Irving and Mavericks.
There have also been ample rumors about Irving being traded. Some even suggested he was headed to the Lakers to team up with his former teammate LeBron James. However, these still remain rumors and have not been substantiated.
Irving’s time with the Mavs hasn’t been too fruitful
Kyrie played 20 games for the Mavs this season, of which he was able to lead the team to only 8 wins. Although, he played exceptionally well in those games and hit some incredible and crucial shots.
Irving averaged 27 points on 51% shooting. Moreover, he also made 39.3% of his threes and 94.7% of his free throws. He also averaged 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. By any metric, those are All-Star-worthy numbers and the Mavs know it.
