Luka Doncic by far one of the most likable superstars in the NBA right now. He has an almost Jekyll and Hyde situation going on. On the court, he has one of the most competitive drives in the league.
However, when he is off it, he has been known to constantly be cracking jokes and participate in different shenanigans with his teammates. This is no secret, but the Dallas Mavericks have high expectations for the Slovenian, and rightly so.
At just 22-years-old, the player is already averaging 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 8.6 assists. But still, many speculate it will be a while before he can lead the franchise to its second-ever NBA championship.
Speaking of championships though, recently the young superstar was asked about the 2011 Mavericks team that won the franchise it’s first. And in response, the superstar hilariously roasted every member of that roster.
“I don’t know nothing”: Luka Doncic comments on Dirk Nowitzki and the 2011 Dallas Mavericks team
For those who watched it, it is difficult to forget the Mavericks’ historic run in 2011. Dirk Nowitzki almost heroically led the team to the NBA finals, where they faced off against LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
Despite going into the game as the underdogs, the Mavs wrapped up the series in 6 games, winning the franchise it’s first-ever NBA championship.
Now, while most fans of the franchise may find it hard to forget this incredible run, it seems Luka Doncic isn’t quite as in awe of it. In a recent interview, this is what he had to say about that team.
“Honestly I don’t know nothing. I was too young to watch the NBA.”

“Honestly, I don’t know nothing. I was too young to watch the NBA.”
After saying, this the player gives off a big smile, trying to hold in his laughter from what he had just said. Unfortunately for him, it appears that the reporters weren’t physically there to laugh along with him.
Doncic later went on to also comment on how happy he was about clinching a playoff spot as well and reminded the NBA community about when they had been slept on earlier on in the season.
Overall, it is huge for the team to be able to avoid the play in altogether. However, only time will tell how much noise this Mavericks team will make in this upcoming postseason.
