A lot was said before Game 7 of the first-round matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings, as the latter had won Game 6 in Chase Center, San Francisco. Draymond Green and Co were beaten by 19 points at home by a younger team with no playoff experience. But they were the ones to light the beam in Golden 1 Center.

Coming into Game 7, many experts, legends, and fans of the game were confident of the Kings winning against the defending champions to book a place in the conference semi-finals against the Lakers.
But Stephen Curry proved all of them wrong and put up the greatest Game 7 performance of all time. However, it is Green who has the best platform to rub salt in the losers’ wounds.
Draymond Green says, “We lit the beam” in Sacramento
With his back against the wall, Curry led the Warriors to a 120-100 win to move to the second round, with a 50-piece. And after a feisty post-game presser by him, Klay Thompson, and Green, the latter didn’t take much time to grab the microphone again in The Draymond Green Show.
Before elaborating on their exclamation win and what lies ahead for the Warriors in the Playoffs, including their next-round opponents, the Lakers, the 2017 DPOY gave fans what they have been waiting for and said the following,
“We lit the beam. There will be no beam being lit on top of Golden 1 Center or wherever that light is coming from. We lit the beam …. and it was absolutely wonderful”.
The Warriors prove again, they are the greatest dynasty of this generation
After going down 2-0 in the series and hearing all the criticism from everyone in the NBA community, the Dubs made it a point to remind everyone who they are.
The defending champions came roaring back and pounced on the slightest of opportunities by De’Aaron Fox and Co. Even after getting beaten at home by almost 20 points, they held the younger team who were the most prolific team offensively in the 2022-23 season to 100 points.
The defending champs didn’t just make it to the second round after winning this crucial game, they have just proven themselves to be this generation’s greatest team ever. And we might get to know it perhaps in the next season when we would see what this Kings team does to their opponents not named “Golden State Warriors” in the Playoffs.
