“Draymond Green texted Bob Myers to draft Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody”: How the Team USA star was the brains behind the Warriors NBA Draft picks
Draymond Green texted Bob Myers to tell him to draft both Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody in the 2021 NBA Draft with the no 7 and 14 picks.
Outside of the top 3 not really being all too surprising in the 2021 NBA Draft, everything that followed those selections was quite interesting to say the least. The Warriors especially, in win-now mode with Steph Curry and Draymond Green at the helm, chose Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody with their two lottery picks.
These are two very intriguing picks as quite nearly all NBA Draft analysts claim that Kuminga is a project and needs some time in the G-League to help sharpen the sword. The same would go for Moody as well. The no.7 pick actually spent time in the G-League alongside Jalen Green but it’s clear that he needs time to develop his shot.
Moses Moody on the other hand, could be plugged into the Warriors offense more immediately as he’s a potential 3-and-D star on the lines of a Mikal Bridges type. Draymond Green clearly sees this all in both picks as he was the one who chose them.
Draymond Green texted Bob Myers to select both Kuminga and Moody.
After building a near, 10 year relationship with Bob Myers, sending simple emojis and one-word texts would be something of the norm instead of long, explanatory paragraphs. The Warriors DPOY has been successful enough to where Myers and the front office trusts him with a decision as imperative as the 2021 NBA Draft.
Draymond Green texted Bob Myers after the third or fourth pick with, “Kuminga.” Then, after the ninth pick, Green texted Myers: “Moody.” After the Warriors made both of those picks, Green texted a thumbs-up emoji.

Despite NBA fans and analysts alike questioning the Dubs selecting Moody and Kuminga at these two spots, it should be understood that Draymond Green himself is vouching for them. However, when it comes to Moody, he may not be on the Warriors for long, much to Green’s chagrin.
According to IndyStarSports, the Warriors are trying to package Moses Moody in a deal to acquire fellow 2021 Draftee, Chris Duarte, from the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers aren’t budging at the moment though.
