Facing A $51,408,000 Decision 1 Year From Now, LeBron James ‘Blatantly’ Claims He’ll Follow Bronny James To The Atlanta Hawks
It’s no surprise that LeBron James yearning to play with not only his first born, Bronny James, but also his middle child, Bryce Maximus James. ‘The King’ has made it clear for years on end that he wants his sons to make it to the NBA and with the trajectory that they’re on, it’s safe to say that both entering the league is very possible. Being as calculating as LeBron is, he even put up a $51,408,000 player option for the 2024-25 season, the same season Bronny gets drafted into the league in, so as to follow him to his team, with him dropping a major hint recently on who this team could be.
NBA fans were left in disarray when James announced that he was contemplating retirement after getting swept by the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Finals. His goal up until this point has been to play with his son but that would be difficult if he retired. According to his best friend, Dwyane Wade, it’s always more of a mental hurdle rather than a physical one and claims James is likely to return.
LeBron James claims he’d ‘pull up’ to Atlanta if Bronny was drafted there
Bronny James isn’t projected to be a lottery pick as of today. He is however a prospect that is expected to be snagged in the first round as ESPN has him going 17th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft to the Atlanta Hawks.
LeBron James caught wind of this. So, he decided to take to his Instagram story to let it be known that he’s completely fine with Hawks being the landing spot for his son and that the ‘James Gang’ would ‘pull up’.

James has a player option worth $51,408,000 going into the 2024-25 NBA season. There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that the 4x Finals MVP negotiated to keep this in place just so he could potentially unite with his son onto whichever team that drafts him.
It should be noted that these projections are nowhere close to concrete in terms of the team order and the player order. Injuries, slumps, and prospects showing out in a 1 year period can completely switch up the draft order. As for the team order, any transactions that take place this offseason until the trade deadline can include any of the picks in this year’s upcoming draft.
Bronny James cast Ohio State aside to join USC
Bronny James was born in Ohio. Both his mother and father are from Ohio as well. So, naturally, it would make sense that he would look to go to university in the same state. He’d even visited the campus and heavily insinuated that he’d be interested in becoming a Buckeye.
Instead, the Sierra Canyon alum will be attending USC, establishing himself as a Trojan. A major factor in Bronny picking USC as his school of choice is that regardless of the whether or not LeBron James retires this year, he’ll be living in Los Angeles and so going to a university in Southern California makes sense to be close to his family
