CJ McCollum can’t help but admire Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Bucks lift their first championship in 50 years

Giannis Antetokounmpo. What can you really say about him?

People have never stopped criticizing him. Throughout his career, he has heard hecklers say that his skill set wasn’t enough. That he had no skill. That he was just a tall player that just runs up and dunks the ball. That he can’t shoot.

Well, now they can say the same thing to his ring and his finals MVP trophy.

Getting to this point wasn’t even close to easy during game 6 though. There were times when the Greek Freak had to essentially carry his team to the finish. And while he was doing so, Portland Trail Blazers star CJ McCollum couldn’t help but be awed by what the star was doing.

Let’s get into it.

“He may be 1 of 1”: CJ McCollum warns the NBA community to admire the greatness of Giannis Antetokounmpo

For most of this game, neither Jrue Holiday nor Khris Middleton could really get their offense going until the very end. So, it all fell on Giannis to keep the Bucks going. And boy, did he keep them going.

50 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 blocks, on 64% from the field. Better yet though, he shot an incredible 17 of 19 from the free-throw line. Any way you look at it, his performance was the closest thing to perfect on both ends in an NBA finals game.

For this, the Greek Freak deserves some serious credit from the NBA community. And it seems that CJ McCollum can’t help but agree. Here is what he tweeted while it was all going down.

A monster indeed.

After waiting for 50 years, Giannis Antetokounmpo has finally brought the city of Milwaukee another championship. And after this season, the fans are undoubtedly looking forward to next season.
