3-pointer specialist Ray Allen leaves Miami team-mates LeBron James and Dwayne Wade from his starting line-up.

Ray Allen is undoubtedly one of the best shooters the NBA has ever seen. The former 3-point contest winner has played with the likes of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, forming the Big 3 in Boston Celtics.

Allen had instant success with the Celtics winning the 2008 NBA championship. In 2010 the 10x NBA All-Star made his 2nd finals appearance with the franchise but unfortunately lost to the LA Lakers.

Allen departed from Boston after playing 5 seasons with them, and during his free agency signed, with the Miami Heat that had the Big 3 comprising of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh.

Ray Allen picks his All-Time starting lineup

“I am taking Glenn Robinson, Terrell Brandon, I have played with Shaq, and it is easy to put Shaq, and I’m gonna say KG,” said Allen. This was surprising considering the tension he had with KG, who did not appreciate Allen joining the Miami Heat.

The 2x NBA champion won his second title with the Miami Heat but did not have 4x NBA champion LeBron James and former Finals MVP Dwayne Wade on his list.

Allen played a major role in the Heat securing their back-to-back NBA championship. The heat was on the brink of elimination during Game 6 of the NBA finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

During the final moments, Allen hit a contested 3-pointer from the corner that tied the game and resulted in Heat winning in over-time.

Allen was more of a role player during his time with the heat, which would have him as a catch-and-shoot player coming off the bench.

In his 18 season career, Allen played with 4 NBA teams and won 2 NBA championships. The veteran averaged 18.9 PPG on a 45.2% shooting from the field and 40% from the 3-point line and had 1.1 SPG.

Allen still holds the record for most no of 3s made in the NBA.
