“Go New York go New York go!”: Stephen A. Smith is ecstatic over Julius Randle and the Knicks winning their 9th straight game with a win over the Toronto Raptors

Stephen A. Smith takes to social media to express his excitement over the New York Knicks snagging their 9th straight win.

If someone had to bet on who the two hottest teams in the NBA would be around the late-April point of the 2020-21 NBA season, nobody would be able to guess that it would be the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards. The Knicks are currently on a 9 game winning streak while the latter is on a 7 game win streak.

The New York Knicks hold the last home court advantage spot in the Eastern Conference but are closely trailed by the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and Atlanta Hawks, who are all within 2 games of the 4th seed.

The teams that the Knicks have beat have been quality teams for most part such as the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Memphis Grizzlies. This win-streak of theirs is most definitely not a fluke by any chance and Stephen A. Smith recognizes this.

Stephen A. Smith rejoices at the New York Knicks having the longest win streak in the NBA currently.

Long-time New York Knicks fan Stephen A. Smith has had some of his best moments on air when talking about the Knicks. Most recently, he had an absolute outburst when hearing of the Knicks sliding down to the 3rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and missing out on Zion Williamson. This was immediately followed up by his rant on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant going to the Nets instead of wanting to play at Madison Square Garden.

It’s safe to say that Smith is a diehard Knicks fan and it shows in his most recent post on social media where he’s seen celebrating New York having won their 9 straight game with a win over the Toronto Raptors.

This reaction video of his comes a couple days after his video on the Knicks ‘actually being good’ where he outlined what caused New York’s massive turnaround from last season.

What has led to the New York Knicks being this good in the 2020-21 NBA season?

The New York Knicks’ unprecedented success can be attributed to a bevy of factors that are currently at play. For starters, Julius Randle has become a borderline MVP candidate by changing up his playstyle from straight bully-ball to increasing his range and working on his isolation game.

He leads the league in isolations at over 800 on the season. Not to mention the fact that he’s being assisting out of the post for more this season, opening up the offense.

Coach Thibs has made sure that the Knicks play an erratic form of defense, making sure no player on the opposing team gets a clean shot off. The Knicks are perhaps the most frightening team to go up against if you don’t have players with fast releases on your jumpshots.
