Having Smoked Marijuana With Jessica Alba, Stephen Jackson Recalled When Don Nelson Led Warriors to 30-Point Win With No Practice

In 2008, the Golden State Warriors were the 9th seed, having won 48 games during the season. They missed the playoff berth by two games, as the Nuggets took the 8th spot with 50 wins. Stephen Jackson, Baron Davis, and Matt Barnes led the team. Even though the Warriors didn’t make it to the playoffs, they sure did have a lot of fun that season.

Now, Stephen Jackson is a wild man. He’s had many incidents at tons of parties, and his stories are well-known in the basketball community. From smoking pot with Jessica Alba to getting in an altercation with Steve Francis and even egging Michael Jordan, Jackson has done it all.

During a recent episode of All the Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes, Stak gave us an insight into one of the wildest nights of the 2007-08 Warriors season.

Stephen Jackson recalled how HC Don Nelson canceled practice upon sniffing the team

In a recent episode with Freddie Gibbs, Gibbs was talking about Miami and how he loves the nightlife there. Jackson decided to share one of the craziest stories associated with the Warriors franchise.

“Let me tell you a funny story of us in Miami. We played in Orlando and fly to Miami after the game, we get there at like 12:00. We had like 3 SUVs parked at the airport, we went straight out, our practice in the morning was at 9:30. Get back to the hotel at like 8-8:15 am. Everybody’s supposed to go to their rooms and get their practice stuff. Half of the people went straight to the bus with the clothes we had on from last night, everybody’s drunk.”

Now, one can imagine that the practice would have gotten ugly right? Instead, the opposite happened. As Jackson recalls,

“We go to the court [during practice], and the coach was like, ‘Bring it in!’ We were supposed to be out there warming up and nobody dressed after that. Coach sniffed us. He smelled and knew [what was going on] and was like, ‘Get back on the bus! We not gonna practice but we better win tonight!’ We came out and won by 30. Some people can just do that.”

The Warriors went on to win the game 134-99. Jackson had a game-high 22 points, and five other Warriors chipped in with double-digit scoring.

Baron Davis led Jackson to smoke marijuana with Jessica Alba

As we have already concluded, Stephen Jackson was a wild man. Talking on 95.7 The Game, he recalled one of the best incidents of his whole life. He said,

I’m laying in my bed after the game, and Baron Davis is good friends with Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson. They don’t wanna smoke in front of everybody so they came to my room. Just picture this, they’re both laying on my bed. I’m loaded so I’m having all kinds of things going on in my mind.

Well, what actually happened that night is something we’d never truly know. However, it is certain that Stak was grateful to Baron Davis.
