Michael Jordan has had one of the most illustrious and most entertaining careers in the history of North American sports. So much so that a documentary about his life as a Chicago Bull had the entirety of the world at a standstill, waiting for each and every episode of the docuseries to drop during spring of 2020.

‘The Last Dance’ was both a commercial and critical success, with Jordan bringing in a reported $10 million from it. This figure is according to Scottie Pippen, who claimed in his memoir that MJ unfairly received compensation for the docuseries while no other Bulls player was given a penny from its earnings.
Other reports have stated that Jordan earned $4 million from the 10-episode series. He would reportedly donate every last bit of that $4 million as well.
One aspect of Jordan’s career that was missing from all 10 episodes of that docuseries was what he did after 1998. Looks like he’s leaning towards putting that on display as well.

Michael Jordan wants to release a documentary about his Wizards stint
After refusing to come back to the Chicago Bulls following Phil Jackson’s dismissal as head coach, Jordan retired for a second time. He would not play NBA basketball from 1998 to 2001. Instead, he took up a job as the President of Basketball Operations for the Washington Wizards.
Eventually, he would ask head coach, Doug Collins, if he still thought he could play in the NBA. After Collins said ‘yes’, Jordan would suit back up, but this time, for the Wizards. He played in the league from 2001 to 2003, when he retired for good at the age of 40.
After having released ‘The Last Dance’, a docuseries where he achieved everything he had dreamt of, he now wants to release one documenting his time with the Washington Wizards. The Wizards were a ‘middle of the pack’ team during his time there but it looks like this documentary is already in the works.

Jordan’s time with the Wizards wasn’t fruitful
Michael Jordan missed the Playoffs for the first time in his career as a member of the Washington Wizards in 2002. This would be in large part due to him missing time because of lower body injuries.
While him and Rip Hamilton proved to be a deadly backcourt duo, even putting up a winning record prior to the All-Star break in 2002, they would not make much noise after that. The 2002-03 season would be more of the same with them boasting the same exact record as the previous year, missing the postseason during MJ’s farewell tour.
