LeBron James recently broke the internet when he announced at the ESPYs that he plans on returning for his 21st season in the NBA. It was just a couple of weeks ago that he suggested he was considering retirement. A decision he contemplated after a 4-0 sweep in the Western Conference Finals at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. So, upon hearing the news, fans around the world are relieved. But, as always, there are haters. And, King James’ No.1 hater, Skip Bayless took to Twitter hours after the ESPYs to blast the Lakers superstar.

Following his embarrassing loss to the Denver Nuggets, LeBron was in shambles. He had just completed his 20th season in the NBA at the age of 38. With a loss in the books, it came as no surprise that The King was considering his future. Fortunately, although many were worried, he has decided to continue playing.
Skip Bayless criticizes LeBron James hours after he announced his decision to return for his 21st season
The ESPYs decided to honor LeBron James after his historic 20th season. Winning an award for his record-breaking performance this season, The King was grateful for the appreciation. And, while thanking the world for the award, he announced his intention to return for his 21st season in the NBA.
Obviously, fans were ecstatic upon hearing the news. But, not everyone was happy about it. Hours after Bron’s announcement, Skip Bayless decided to rip the four-time NBA Champion apart on social media.
Tweeting out to his 3.2 million followers, Skip blasted LeBron and took the opportunity to remind everyone of King James’ past failures. In particular, he suggested that Bron’s initial announcement during the Playoffs was nothing more than a strategic decision. One that was used to distract fans from the fact that he had just been swept by the Denver Nuggets.
Remember when LeBron brilliantly took the focus off his FOUR 4th quarter failures vs Denver by dropping the “I just might retire” bombshell? Remember his last 2 shots that didn’t even touch the rim? Remember 1-10 from 3 in those 4th qs? Now, HE’S NOT RETIRING! As if he ever was.

Bayless’ assessment of LeBron’s announcement is not that surprising. He has had a lot to say about the Los Angeles Laker superstar over the years. He is undoubtedly the future Hall of Famer’s most brutal critic and certified hater.
King James wowed fans with an incredible performance in his 20th season
The 2022-2023 season marked LeBron James’ 20th season in the league. It was a huge milestone and The King did not disappoint. Not only did he take a depleted roster from the 13th seed to the Playoffs, but he also led the team to the Western Conference Finals. However, the biggest moment was undoubtedly when he broke the scoring record, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and cementing his legacy as one of the greatest of all time.
