The 2010-2014 Miami Heat have cemented themselves amongst the upper echelons of ‘greatest teams in NBA history’. The LeBron James-Dwyane Wade tandem proved to be one of the greatest duos of all time.
The Heat managed to make 4 straight trips to the NBA Finals, clinching 2 back-to-back titles in the process. However, it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows for the LeBron and Wade led Heat.
Their first year together in the 2010-11 season didn’t end the way they hoped it would. They lost in 6 games to the Dallas Mavericks.
Dwyane Wade and LeBron James weren’t too thrilled to see Jason Terry after their Fianls loss.
Dwyane Wade recently appeared on Russell Wilson’s show, DangerTalk, and opened about an incident that took place after the 2011 Finals.
Upon the Heat’s crushing defeat at the hands of Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks, Wade and LeBron looked to relax, to get their minds off what had transpired. Both, along with their wives, took a trip to the Bahamas.
When trying to get into a club in the Bahamas, LeBron and D-Wade noticed a familiar face in the line. It was Dallas Mavericks 2nd leading scorer, Jason Terry.
Terry averaged 18 points off the bench for the Mavs in the 2011 Finals, to help put the Heat away.
Terry took a little bit longer to get into the club but once he did, according to Wade, approached both him and Bron. Upon doing so, reached out his hand and tried to shake theirs.
Wade said to Wilson, “We had to give that man his respect because of what they accomplished. The way they beat us was special. They humbled us.”
The Heat’s loss to the Mavs definitely added fuel to the fire within the Heat players as they clinched the next 2 NBA championships.
