Carmelo Anthony joined De’Aaron Fox and LeBron James in condemning the NBA for going ahead with this season’s All Star Game.

The NBA announced its decision to go ahead with the All-Star Game on Thursday. This was met with consternation and disapproval by a few stars of the league. In reality, the NBPA’s approval is necessary for such a move to take place. So basically, this is a minority opinion even among players as far as we know.
The players get more money if the stars turn out for the All-Star game. Understandably, the rest of the league was willing to risk the stars contracting the virus in order to get this bag.
Fox had understandably called the All Star Game a ‘stupid idea’ on Wednesday after leading the Kings to a W over the Celtics. It might just be Fox’s best chance at making the game. But he still had the even-keeled view on the subject – this pandemic hasn’t been kind to anyone.
Carmelo Anthony responds to postgame statement by LeBron James
Carmelo Anthony echoed the sentiments of LeBron James regarding this year’s All-Star Game. The veteran forward believes that it would be foolish and unnecessary for the NBA to follow through with All-Star festivities.
“I don’t think it’s right. I don’t think we need it.”

The Blazers are in line to send Damian Lillard for his 4th consecutive All Star Game appearance. They might also have had a shot at sending CJ, if not for the guard’s long-term injury. The Blazers themselves have been hit by the injury bug every season over the past 5 years.
