‘I hate you and your brother’: Russell Westbrook has a hilarious verbal spat with Wizards teammate Robin Lopez
Russell Westbrook seems to be establishing a great rapport with his new teammates, judging from his interaction with Robin Lopez.
The Brody is on his third team in 20 months. From the accounts of all his teammates thus far, he’s one of the best guys to have on your side. He’s never shy about what he wants to express, on and off the floor. This makes it easy to ride or die with him.
The Wizards are a team in flux. They have a ‘spooky’ group of players, so to speak. The likes of Bradley Beal, Davis Bertans and Thomas Bryant will constitute probably the best shooting lineup Russ has played alongside.
Robin Lopez is among the veterans who give the team the composure and steel required to navigate the trials and tribulations of the playoffs.
Russell Westbrook and Robin Lopez trash talk each other to hilarious effect
A lot of footage from the Wizards’ training runs involve Russ acclimatizing himself effortlessly to the team around him. His enthusiasm and bubbling energy drew praise from the likes of LeBron James himself.
Part of the clip which James retweeted involves Robin Lopez and Westbrook joking around with each other.
Russell Westbrook: “Robin, you wanna say anything nice?”
Robin Lopez: “To you? Everything just went out of my head. I’m not used to saying nice things to you”
Russ: “That’s why I don’t like you or your brother”

RoLo and the Brody are both characters who will be huge for the chemistry in the Wizards’ locker room. The hot and cold that blew between the likes of John Wall and Marcin Gortat looks unlikely to repeat itself in his presence. Lopez himself is among the goofiest, funniest pros around.
