“I miss you, Hermano”: Kobe Bryant receives emotional Twitter tribute from former Lakers teammate and dear friend Pau Gasol
Former Lakers star Pau Gasol posted a moving letter dedicated to Gianna and Kobe Bryant on the eve of their death anniversary today.
The friendship and bond between Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol was one of the great advertisements for the Lakers and the NBA. The Spaniard was one of the most skilled big men in the league. He was complemented by the killer mentality of Kobe both on and off the pitch.
As a tandem, Gasol and Kobe made 3 straight Finals, winning the last two. Gasol obviously credits Kobe for a lot of his improvements on the offensive end. Gasol’s most efficient offensive seasons came alongside Kobe during his 7 years with the Lakers.

Gasol posted the following message, along with a couple of pictures on his Twitter timeline:
“I miss you hermano…not a day goes by that you are not present in what I do. Your spirit, your drive, your ambition, your love…continues to shine in my life as it does in that of many others. Photos, videos, very special moments keep being shared by countless people that have admired and loved you in their own way, reminding me how incredibly lucky I have been to share those moments with you.”
“I hope you and Gigi are smiling down seeing how strong, sweet and amazing your girls are… they are growing so fast brother. I wish you could’ve met our little Elisabet Gianna. We will make sure she knows where her middle name comes from. How extraordinary, loving and inspiring her cousin Gianna and uncle Kobe were.”
“Today, we honor and celebrate both of you, you have left us with so much…but even if it isn’t how we would like things to be, you are, and will always be in our hearts.”
