"I think I'm top 5": Jayson Tatum hilariously joked about his haircut Mic'd Up ahead of Celtics vs Sixers in 2019

Jayson Tatum has probably had the NBA’s best hairline since Day 1. It’s so sharp, in fact, that when he gets it cut, he thinks he’s ‘top 5’.

Tatum is probably one of the universally loved young talents in the league. The youngster has come a long way since his first couple of months in the league as an off-ball talent.

Jayson has legitimately become one of the NBA’s most unstoppable scorers today. He sealed this notion with a 60-point game this year, and added a 50-point game in the playoffs against Kevin Durant, James Harden and their Brooklyn Nets.

His game is silky smooth – the way he goes about his business is methodical, unhurried and composed. The rangy 6’8″ forward can take it to the rack using his tight handles, pull up from mid-range or step back at the arc.

But perhaps the best thing about the guy is that he’s just a comically funny man to be around. His teammates say as much, and the small pieces of evidence we picked up from the Internet and from his Mic’d up moments serve as ample proof.

But in Tatum’s mind, perhaps the best thing about his own self is his immaculate hairline. One could even say that it’s a top 5 hairline in the NBA. Right? Marcus Morris certainly thought so, as he revealed in a 2018 interview:

“I think he has great hair. I think he gets his hair cut too much, in my personal opinion. When it comes to having a strong hairline, you can’t let people take it back. I tell him all the time.”

Tatum, however, seems to love it when he’s got short hair. The Boston Celtics took on the Philadelphia 76ers at home in December 2019, and we were lucky enough to hear Tatum saying this on a mic.

The then-21-year-old had seemingly gotten a haircut just before the game. So he went about talking to his teammates in pre-game shootarounds in hilarious fashion.
