“I Will With Your Wife”: Shaquille O’Neal Once Went At A Reporter For His Disrespectful Question

A conference room is a place where an NBA superstar can make or break their career. It’s where the tough questions are asked of them. And, more often than not can prove more difficult than playing a seven-game series. But, there are times when some of these questions are just downright stupid. Like when Shaquille O’Neal was on the Miami Heat. He was asked a disrespectful question and Big Diesel clapped back at the reporter.

In general, Shaq is a humorous man. He loves his jokes and loves roasting people even more. Hence why he was wildly successful at the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber. But, it’s needless to say that he does not like being disrespected. Especially by reporters.

So, during the 2006 NBA Finals, when Shaq recognized a certain reporter during the press conference, he knew that the question would be in poor taste. And, it was, as he was asked if he would be willing to suck the venom out of his mother’s chest area to win the title. A horrendous question to say the least, but O’Neal’s response definitely left the reporter in tatters.

In 2006, Shaquille O’Neal was on his way to winning his fourth NBA Championship. A monumental achievement for the 7’1″ big man. But, prior to this, The Big Aristotle still needed to go through the Dallas Mavericks. And, while they did dispatch them in six games, there were questions to be asked.

For the most part, all the questions he had faced in the days leading up to this crowning moment were normal. But of course, it wouldn’t be an NBA press conference if there aren’t any dumb questions from reporters. And it just so happened that Shaq was in the hot seat.

But, when he was asked if he would suck the venom out of his mother’s chest if a snake bit her. All so that he could win an NBA Championship, he had the perfect response. He promptly stated that while he would not do it with his mother, he definitely would with the reporter’s wife. A response that led to a roar of laughter from both Shaq and the others in the room.

Reporter: “Shaq let’s just say that a snake bit your mom right up here…right in the chest area. Would you be willing to suck the venom out to win the title?”

Shaq: “No, but I will with your wife!”

Talk about a savage comeback. Safe to say that the reporter had to apply some cold water to that scorching hot burn from the Hall of Famer.

Shaq may be good at responding to dumb questions but he asks a few of them himself

The response to the venom question certainly is iconic. But, Shaquille O’Neal has asked his fair share of dumb questions as well. Like the time he asked how long a flight to the moon is. His logic? Well, he can see the moon but he can’t see California from Atlanta.

So, it must take longer to get to Cali than it does take to get to the moon.

Well, even a man with a doctorate degree in organizational learning and leadership is prone to asking a few mind-boggling questions.
