Mark Jackson may have had one of the most ‘interesting’ commentaries when he hit on LeBron James’ wife Savannah James in the 2018 Finals.

The ESPN and ABC broadcast commentator is famous for his one liner ‘Mama, there goes that man’, and he’s delivered some colorful commentary over the years on some of the most memorable plays in NBA history.

During the 2018 NBA Finals, Mark Jackson was part of the crew responsible for commentating the games, and in game one, he had a very ‘interesting’ (to say the least) message for LeBron James’ wife Savannah James.

The 2018 NBA Finals was dubbed as one of the most one sided matchups on paper. LeBron James was the leader of a lowly Cleveland Cavaliers team which only had the fringes of a second star in a declining Kevin Love.

Meanwhile, their opponents, the Golden State Warriors, were stacked beyond measure with their big four of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green.

Everyone was calling for a sweep before the series had even begun. And yet, somehow, the Cavaliers not only managed to stay in the game with Golden State, they also ended up taking them to overtime, giving them a serious run for their money. This was the game with the infamous J.R. Smith blunder:

The Cavaliers really could have stole a game off Golden State, pulling off one of the biggest upsets in Finals history. Whether that game one victory would have mattered in the long run is a separate question, but starting off with a victory is always good.

Midway through the game, Mark Jackson started to very interestingly deviate conversation to talking about LeBron James’ wife. He called her an “all city pitcher” and that he’d “hit her out of the park” (with all due respect apparently, whatever that means).

It was something that was overlooked in the moment, but coming back to it now, makes it seem all the more strange and confusing.

Nobody may be able to figure out what Mark Jackson was trying to say here, but his comment does remain unbeaten up to this day.
