“Love LeBron James, but the bubble doesn’t count”: Charles Barkley roasts Lakers and Heat, calls them bubble gangsters
Charles Barkley was in the mood to spray fatalities all across the board during his recent interview with Dan Le Batard.
The departure of the Dan Le Batard show from ESPN has deprived sports fans of their lone watchable show. ESPN usually has such bland production and a weird dynamic between its panelists that it’s not worth watching.
Most people just don’t like Stephen A Smith blabbering like a baboon over basketball matters than he’s only ever scratched the surface of. In contrast, Le Batard is one of those who doesn’t care for political correctness.
Le Batard’s no-filter approach has gained him a ton of fans over the years, so he’s moved on from ESPN. Now that he’s got his own podcast deal, Dan can speak his mind on the Free Dumb podcast. And that’s what he’s doing.
Charles Barkley roasts Dan LeBatard, the Heat, the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard at the same time
It’s rare for someone to be such a piece of comic relief that they’re able to roast everyone in sight. But Charles Barkley is absolutely the dude you’d bet your life on getting a laugh out of you. This exchange is about as conclusive as anything you can find on Chuck.
“I’ve been rich, I’ve been poor, I’ve been fat, I’ve been skinny, but one thing is common through all those parts of my life – the Clippers suck. They’ve been with me this whole journey, Dan.”
“If Kawhi leaves there, they’re just going to be like your Miami Heat. Since LeBron left them, I ain’t never seen you there ever again. I’m never going to Miami, Cleveland or Houston again. So Dan, as much as I love you, I’m never going to see y’all again, cuz y’all are mediocre.”
Dan: We literally made the Finals 6 months ago!
Chuck: Yeah, listen. That bubble basketball, it was a bunch of bubble gangsters. That don’t count.
Chuck’s NBA takes and guarantees are about as far from serious bets and debates that you can get. The prudent thing to usually do is getting Chuck to root against your team. Perhaps that’s the Jedi mind trick that Le Batard is playing here?
