Steve Kerr took us down memory lane after today’s game against the Raptors. We learnt the hilarious story of the time he fined Drake $500.

The Warriors bested the Raptors 106-105 today. They overcame one of Steph Curry’s worst performances ever (he shot 2/16 from the field, 1/10 from 3s). The Raptors now have a 2-7 record and are 13th in the East.
The outcome of this game may well have been in the Raps’ favor if this game was at the Scotiabank Arena. The soft touch foul that bailed Damion Lee out on the last possession might not have been given.
Stephen Curry’s 2-16 (.125) shooting night is tied for the worst by a Warriors player who took 15 FG attempts in a game over the last 20 seasons.

In the pre-game presser, Warriors HC Steve Kerr recalled an anecdote from the past, which involved Steph, Draymond, and Drake.
Steve Kerr fined Drake $500, and he actually paid it
Steve Kerr recalled a time when the Warriors’ stars Steph and Draymond got late for the team plane. He says the Warriors’ travel man, Eric Housen called Steph, and he responded by saying:
“Oh, my fault, I’m with Drake and Draymond, we’re at the arena still, sorry we’re late.”
Kerr then recalls that the Warriors back then had a rule where you could bring a friend on the team plane a few times a year. That night, Steph Curry decided to use his chance and brought Drake on the team plane. They got fined $500 each for their troubles, but Drake got to tag along.

The best part about this whole anecdote is that Drizzy actually ended up paying that $500 fine. Drake has mentioned the Warriors ‘running practice at his home’ in ‘Summer Sixteen’. He has also included KD and Stephen Curry in a lot of his songs. Given their past, it was no surprise that he made his way to the team plane.
