Anthony Davis is a championship winner with the Lakers. The 2020 bubble championship, one of the most difficult tournaments in NBA history, saw him win it all alongside LeBron James. But since then Davis has been on a downward spiral, not in his performance but his health.

He has been called fragile and injury-prone and to some extent, Davis has indeed looked that way. This season has been no different. Of the team’s 34 games, Anthony Davis has appeared only in 25 games. Without him, the Lakers have looked weak in both offense and defense.
Though with LeBron James’ help, the gold and purples have managed to score regardless, it still cannot fill the hole AD’s absence left in the squad. It’s unfortunate that he will continue to remain inactive.
Anthony Davis is out indefinitely
Anthony Davis is on a streak. Though, it’s a slightly different kind of streak. It’s a streak of seasons with not more than 40 games. If things remain this way again, he will be able to push the streak to three seasons.
He has already missed 9 games, of which 5 have been in a row. The stress injury in his foot clearly shows that he will not be able to play for a while. The timeline for his return is unavailable at this moment.
In his absence, Thomas Bryant has been gifted more playing time. Though Bryant is proving to be a good role player, he is not the same as Anthony Davis. LeBron James and Co. will hope for his return before the season slips past their grasp.
The Lakers provided an update on Anthony Davis today at noon, saying he will continue to be out for an indefinite period with a “stress injury” in his right foot.He was present for shootaround this morning, wearing slippers on the court. Rob Pelinka must ensure some much-needed depth is added to the squad before the trade deadline. Even if they miss the playoffs this season, they should be ready to make Lakers contenders again as soon as possible.
AD’s stats before his concerning injury
Before getting injured against the Denver Nuggets, Davis was posting some serious numbers. He was showing the promise that everyone in the league expected him.
AD is currently averaging an impressive 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds. He is also shooting 59.4% of his field goals. If he can be match fit in time, there is still a possibility Lakers could turn it around. Or maybe not.
