Is Chris Paul injured? Suns star suffered hard fall in Game 1 vs Lakers and grabbed his shoulder

Chris Paul went down hard in the first half of the Suns’ first round series against the Lakers. He seems to be alright judging from his play.

Devin Booker has powered the Phoenix Suns to an advantageous position as the game clock expires. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have both been way off the pace for the Lakers today. CP3, meanwhile, has had problems of his own.

Is Chris Paul injured?

Chris Paul went down holding his shoulder early in the first half today. The signs didn’t look good as the Point God picked himself up off the floor and walked off gingerly. He hobbled to the dressing room for a while, prompting injury concerns.

We can confirm that Paul did suffer a shoulder contusion at the time, but it wasn’t a hard one. As things stand, Paul returned to the floor at the start of the 3rd quarter and played for a solid half quarter before returning for additional treatment.

Cameron Payne was the guard Monty Williams chose to fill in for Chris Paul when he sat out for treatment. Payne seemed to be hot in the first half, but his influence wore off in the second half.

Perhaps that was the reason why he squabbled with Alex Caruso and Montrezl Harrell and got himself ejected. This happened early in the 4th quarter of the game after Chris Paul was called for a foul on LeBron.

Paul went on to play the rest of the game. He even hit a circus shot midway through the 4th quarter from his signature elbow spot. Chris Paul ensured that the Suns finished the game on the comeup.
