Is Zion Williamson Playing Tonight vs Spurs? Pelicans Release Availability Update on 284LB Star
The New Orleans Pelicans, led by Zion Williamson, have become a force of nature this season. After a terrible start last season, Willie Green skillfully recalibrated midway and made the team a legitimate playoff contender.
Having learned from 2021-22, the Pelicans began the current season on a very high note. Until just a few games ago, they were even at the top of the Western Conference. However, a recent streak of losses displaced them from the top.
They currently stand 3rd in the West with 18 wins and 12 losses. Though they are currently on a four-game losing streak, there is no denying how incredible the Pelicans can be with Zion Williamson on the squad. Unfortunately, with the 284lb star out, they might have to wait to add another win to their record.
Zion Williamson listed under NBA’s health and safety protocol
In the official injury report, Zion Williamson has been listed as out for the game against the Spurs. Zion, who has been an absolute beast this season, will miss a few games due to being placed on the health and safety protocol.

The protocol effectively reveals that Zion likely has covid. His return will depend on how quickly he tests negative. While there is no certain timeline for his return, he is expected to make a comeback against the Pacers.
For Zion, this is a small hurdle in the incredible season he is having. In the last ten games, he is averaging 29.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. He has also been highly influential on the defensive end. The Pelicans will definitely miss Zion’s presence a lot in the upcoming game.
