Recently, Victor Wembanyama sat down with Malika Andrews for an interview. They discussed a number of things, including his future in the NBA, the upcoming season, and his performance in the pre-season. One of these questions, which revolved around the pre-season, was about a move he pulled off against the Houston Rockets: the incredible nutmeg on Reggie Bullock.

Andrews asked Wemby whether or not he had visualized the move beforehand, to which he responded, “Yes.” The San Antonio Spurs star revealed that he had been thinking about using the move for weeks.
He spoke about how it surprises and allows him to get over the defender. Finally, once he saw the replay, he couldn’t help but feel it had gone exactly how he had visualized it.
“Oh yeah of course. I’ve actually been visualizing this move for last few weeks. It’s surprising to the defender because it rarely happens, but it’s also effective because it allowes me to go over a defender. When I saw it, it was exactly how I visualized it.”
Malika Andrews: “Were you aiming for that [nutmeg on Reggie Bullock]?”
Victor Wembanyama: Oh yeah of course. I’ve actually been visualizing this move… when I saw it, it was exactly how I visualized it.”

The pre-season truly was a coming-out party for Wembanyama. In four outings, he averaged an amazing 19 points, five rebounds, and three blocks per game. If fans weren’t already excited, they sure are now after seeing the Frenchman in action.
Victor Wembanyama has impressed many with his pre-season performance, including Kevin Garnett and Paul George
There can be no denying Victor Wembanyama’s potential and talent after his pre-season outing. His size, standing at 7’4″, is what makes him such a unicorn, but what’s more, he has the skill to back it up as well. In fact, many are starting to believe the hype around him and are convinced of his ability.
Kevin Garnett, a talented big himself back in the day, heaped praise on Wemby. Labeling him one of the top-five skilled players in the league, KG is clearly a big fan of the 19-year-old.
Additionally, Los Angeles Clippers star, Paul George, who was doubtful of Wemby’s skill, has retracted his statement and is impressed by the rookie.
As for Wembanyama himself, he is looking forward to the upcoming season. As one would expect, he is already in the conversation for Rookie of the Year, but that isn’t a priority for him. All he is looking to do is give 100% on the court and prove himself in the biggest league in the world.
