After giving up a 17-point lead to the Nets to begin their three-game homestand, the Dubs would like to set the record right tomorrow night. On the other hand, the Grizzlies have lost three games in a row right after recording an 11-game win streak. They would like to stop the skid and try to level the season series as they face Stephen Curry and co.
Right before the game, Draymond Green released a new episode of his podcast where he talked about the Grizzlies.
Draymond Green refuses to acknowledge Grizzlies-Warriors as a rivarly
Over the last two seasons, we’ve seen quite a few intense matchups between the Warriors and the Grizzlies. It all started in 2021 when the Warriors and Grizzlies fought for the 8th spot in the West. The Warriors edged them and took the 8th seed, only to lose to them in the Play-In game.
Last year, we saw several intense regular season matchups, with a 2nd round Playoff matchup to top it all off. The Warriors beat the Grizzlies in six games and went all the way to win the Championship.
Draymond Green talked about the ‘rivalry’ comments ahead of the upcoming Grizzlies matchup. He refused to acknowledge it as a rivalry. According to him, the Grizzlies haven’t accomplished enough to make themselves a part of a rivalry.

Well, Draymond isn’t wrong. The Grizzlies team is too young and only has one playoff series win under their belt. For them to use words like ‘dynasty’ and ‘rivalry’ is just premature at this stage.
How far can the Grizzles go in the playoffs this season?
The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the more exciting teams this season. They’re playing brilliantly and are currently the 2nd seed in the West. With the way Ja Morant has been playing, and the others have been following his lead, the Grizzlies are due for some playoff run.
However, it all depends on whether they can keep their focus for seven games against the same opponents. The young team needs to learn patience, but if things go their way, they might make it all the way to the NBA Finals.
